Update #1: Weight Loss Program 2016 + Benefits Of Chia Seeds
This blog post is already long overdue. So many things to do, so little time! Just a quick life update, our yaya just left two weeks ago since she had to go home and take care of her sick daughter, so my schedule for the past few days without her is literally a chaos. What I do everyday for now while waiting for the replacement of my previous yaya, is to take care of Tali 24/7, do the chores also 24/7 and work at night when Tali is already asleep. No time for me to rest!! On top of that, I need to make time and make some new products for Soap Wrap Manila since I will be having an upcoming bazaar this February. I will update you about the bazaar through Soap Wrap Manila's facebook page. My mind is just really all over the place right now. Anyhoo, I am not here to rant but to update you about the weight loss program. So here it goes!
Most of you guys probably know by now that my friends and I are currently in a competition of trying to lose weight from January to March. To know more about how the competition works, read this blog post Weight Loss Program 2016 #Veganuary, and try doing this fun healthy-competition with your friends as well. So, the first weigh-in happened last January 19, 2016. I wasn't really happy with my result, but losing 1 pound is good enough for starting. I still have 2 months to go to get my metabolism going! Almost all of us who are included in this weight loss competition are doing just fine except for one. She gained weight, and as per agreement anyone who gains weight during the three month program has to pay which will add up to the monetary price for the winner by the end of this competition. Exciting huh!?
Here is a blurred photo as my proof on my 1pound weight loss. Haha! Nothing to be proud of, just being honest! Lol.
A friend of mine who is also a part of weight loss competition, told me that chia seeds are really effective. When I heard this from her, I immediately went to Healthy Options and purchased my own pack of chia seeds. Ever since then, I've been drinking it with green tea every morning but since my weighing scale is not working right now, I couldn't tell yet if it's effective or not. Before buying this I made some research and found out that those small seeds are small but terrible. It has a lot of nutrients in it, it is also very high in protein which is good if taken in the morning for breakfast. Eating breakfast that is high in protein is beneficial for our blood sugar and cholesterol levels.

Take note that chia seeds are not proven to help you with weight loss. But since these seeds are packed with dietary fiber, high vitamins and minerals, there are so many benefits you can get with just one tablespoon a day. Chia seeds are also loaded with anti-oxidants and omega-3 fatty acids which are very important to be included on our everyday healthy diet. Based on some research adding chia on your everyday diet is also very helpful in lowering the risk of heart disease and type2 diabetes.

In my experience by putting one tablespoon of chia seeds in a warm cup of green tea every morning, I noticed that it stops cravings and it makes me feel full for almost the whole day. There are so many good and bad reviews about chia seeds online. Others say that it can help you with weight loss and some people say that it is not proven yet. But regardless, if chia seeds can help you with weight loss or not, getting a pack of nutrients with just one tablespoon a day is not bad to invest on.
