5 Interior Design Tips For Rented Spaces

Struggles of a renter have always been, how can a rented place become comfortable, cozy, homelike and beautiful. It is understandable that not all are willing to spend on improving a house they don't own, and if you're one of those people regardless if it is a rented condominium unit or a rented house these tips will definitely make your temporary house, a home.

1. You'll never go wrong with white walls.

Spending a little for a re-paint wouldn't hurt. Paint your walls white and it will surely match whatever furniture you have and you plan to bring in the future.

2. Accent wall.

Never forget the accent wall. A room painted all white can sometimes be boring. Paint a part of the wall or one corner of the room with any color that you like, any color will surely stand out on white walls and I promise you, your room will instantly have a different feel.

3. Accent pieces.

Every home should have an accent piece. It can be an old vase passed down to you by your mother or a painting that you already have, whatever it is make sure that it will stand out. To achieve a more coordinated look, I suggest that you match your accent wall with the accent piece that you already have at home. This way, the accent wall and the accent piece will stand out together from the white walls.

4. Invest on a good quality furniture.

One way of making our homes feel cozy and homey is by giving ourselves a treat by spending on good quality, long lasting and most importantly comfortable furniture. As for me, it is very important that I sleep well at night on a comfortable bed. Long satisfying rests are always important and the only way to achieve that is when you have comfortable furniture to lay down on.

5. Living room MUST be comfortable.

We already talked about investing on a good quality furniture, if you don't have it yet you should go get yourselves a comfortable sofa. Aside from the fact that this is where you accommodate your guests, it is also the place where you'll probably stay during your lazy days to watch the tv or to use your laptop. You can't stay forever in your room. Living room is the part of the house that is often taken for granted, vamp up the living room by putting lots of throw pillows and a pile of magazines the visitors can always grab.
