Chinese Beauty Product Haul + Kylie Jenner's Moisturizer Trick

Just a quick life update: It has been reaaaaaaally busy! Managing work and family time is not easy at all. I would usually feel bad for working too much and not having as much quality time with my little one. But you know, everyone needs to work and working my ass off is a choice, for me to be able to give my little Tali the best life she can have. #mommyproblems

Two weekends ago I went for a business trip with my grandmother to China. We initially went there just for a client meeting but then my grandmother decided to extend our stay so that we can also attend the canton fair in Guangzhou. Canton fair is a very big exhibition in Guangzhou, showcasing products that are very good for import and export by different suppliers from China. As we all know, everything is made in China now. And so, I am really, really, reallyyy excited about the business opportunities we've seen there. There are lots of potential products we can add in our company on top of what we already have now.

However, not all things that have happened in China are exciting, my grandmother and I had some minor mishaps while we were there. Everyone should be careful of the fake money that's been going around their country! If you are planning to visit China, you have to be careful of this, the people in our hotel told us that most Chinese people especially taxi drivers choose foreigners as their victims. Their bank and airport money changer gives out fake RMBs in exchange to your real Dollars. You also have to be careful of the taxi drivers who gives you change, if your money needs change they will most likely change you with a fake RMB. So it's better to just give them the exact amount of money and use a credit card if you're planning to go shopping.

Meanwhile at the hotel, I had the chance to rest a little and enjoy the amenities. Grandma and I also went around Beijing road where I bought one of the beauty products which I am about to discuss and give a review now.

Konjac Cleansing Sponge

Let me start with this product which I got as a sample from the fair. A konjac sponge is an all-natural sponge made from konjac roots which is a vegetable fiber. It is an anti-bacterial sponge that's really soft and safe to use around the eye area. It can remove 99% of your make up, which I tried and is really effective. It cleanses your face and like any other sponge it also gently exfoliates the skin. I really like the effect of this cleansing sponge, not only that it claims to balance out the PH level of your skin, but your skin will really feel softer and smoother every after use without the harsh feeling of exfoliation. I recommend using this kind of sponge every other day. Your face will definitely feel cleaner than ever! I think konjac sponges are being sold locally, you can check online if there are distributors in the Philippines where you can order.

Miniso Face Brush

I originally saw this product at the canton fair, too bad they are not allowed to sell products during the exhibition. Luckily, while going around Beijing road I saw one of their many boutiques and had the chance to buy one. Miniso face brush is similar with the famous Clarisonic face brush. It is intended to clean and exfoliate the face every time you use it. This product is battery operated, the brush swirls around to massage the face and to successfully exfoliate your skin. It's good to use this kind of brush once or twice a week because exfoliating and using this product everyday might damage your skin.

I did a little twist in using this product by following Kylie Jenner's trick in applying moisturizers. Kylie Jenner has her own app slash website giving out fashion tips and beauty hacks, because who doesn't want some Kylie Jenner beauty advice right? But of course I am using a different brush here, but.. you get the point.

So her advice is to put moisturizer and spread it all over your face using a brush. It helps the skin to absorb the moisturizer better and most importantly it really feels good on the face.

To sum up everything, washing your face with a konjac sponge and applying your moisturizer with a face brush before sleeping will make you feel so refreshed and energized the next day as you wake up in the morning with a healthy skin.
