Postpartum: Skin Problems After Giving Birth

For some reasons, right after giving birth I noticed that my skin is darker than usual. I actually feel like my skin now is more horrible than it was during my pregnancy. Aside from the slight discoloration that I have on my tummy, my underarm and some other hidden areas of my body are visibly darker. I am not vain, but I take extra good care of my skin since I grew up having eczema as a child and to have clear skin is really important to me. I did some research and the darkening of skin after giving birth is called chloasma. Chloasma is a skin pigmentation that occur to women during pregnancy or after they give birth. After a few weeks or months when all hormones normalize, the dark pigmentation should fade away. For some it could take years, but for some unfortunate moms it's possible that it wouldn't fade away.

Currently, I still continue with my Summer Skin Care Routine for Benefit Cosmetics and SK-II has been doing good on my skin so far. Below I'll enumerate for you some postpartum products that I use and give you an idea on how to eliminate dark spots, home remedy style.

For all of you out there who have been suffering with dark pigmentation, words aren't enough to express how good of a product this is. If dark spots have always been a problem for you I suggest that you add SK-II Whitening Spots Specialist on your everyday skin care routine.

To all mommies out there, don't forget to still take care of yourselves even though you're already busy with your babies. A nice long bath when the baby is sleeping has been helpful for me to de-stress. What has been your me-time so far? I would love to hear your story.
