Beauty Benefits of Virgin Coconut Oil

Virgin Coconut oil has the tendency to become creamy solid in room with a cool temperature, but here in the Philippines coconut oil is liquid at a room temperature. Regardless if its solid or liquid, virgin coconut oil is healthy and has so many beauty benefits for the skin and all over the body.

Please note that I am not a skin expert, but based on my research while virgin coconut oil is helpful for some, for others it clogs pores, make the skin more oily and leaves you with breakouts. It will help a lot if you will also do your own research. If you already have a coconut oil with you at home try it in a small area on your skin, if you like the effect then continue using it, if you don't then simply stop.

Face & Body Moisturizer

Coconut oil is an effective face and body moisturizer, it makes the skin supple and leaves the face soft and dewy. Take note, dewy and not oily. For some, they use virgin coconut oil as an all over anti-aging product for the face and body. I love using coconut oil on my hands focusing on the cuticles and the soles of my feet, since those parts of my body has the tendency to get so rough.

Hair Mask

Suffering from dry hair? Worry not, a bottle of virgin coconut oil will help you get back those healthy locks. Five minutes before taking a shower, apply generous amount on the dry parts and tips of your hair. After five minutes, rinse the oil from your hair in the shower and finish it off with your regular shampoo.

Lip Balm

If you suffer with dry and chapped lips like me, using virgin coconut oil as a lipbalm is a natural way to keep your lips moisturized and hydrated. Scoop a tea spoon of coconut oil from the bottle and place it in an old lip balm case or a small tin can, this way you can put it in your purse and bring it everywhere you go. Quick tip: After applying a matte lipstick, virgin coconut oil can serve as a lip gloss.

Make up Remover

We all know how expensive make up removers are and virgin coconut oil is a cheap alternative for those expensive products. After a long day with make up on, it is important that we remove all traces of make up before sleeping, to do that lightly massage a pea size amount of coconut oil all over your face, make sure that all foundation, eye shadow and eye liner are removed. When you're done wipe your face with a tissue then rinse excess oil left on your face with warm water, finish everything off with your regular facial wash for a squeaky clean face before sleeping.

Shaving Cream

The razor on your shaver leaves your skin dry and flaky. Before shaving the legs massage an amount of coconut oil onto your skin, if you feel like your skin has already fully absorbed the oil and is completely moisturized you can now start shaving. You will notice after, that you now have a smoother and softer legs than ever, flaunt it by wearing your short shorts or mini skirts. haha!

Enjoy the benefits of an all natural beauty regimen. 'Til my next post!
